Gareth Thomas

Gareth Thomas has a strong background in finance and accounting. Gareth started their career in 2000 at PwC, where they served as a Senior Manager and later as Director of Financial Assurance, leading audits for both private and public listed international groups. In 2011, they had a secondment to Fletcher Building as a Group Accounting Manager, where they were responsible for acquisition accounting following a NZ$1bn acquisition. Gareth then returned to PwC before rejoining Fletcher Building in 2013. At Fletcher Building, they held various roles, including Group Accounting Manager and Financial Controller, before being internally promoted to General Manager of Finance & Performance. In 2019, they joined SAS International as the Finance Director. Throughout their career, Gareth has demonstrated expertise in financial performance management, reporting and analysis, financial control, and leadership. Gareth has also been involved in significant projects such as equity raising, acquisition, and transition to new accounting standards.

Gareth Thomas completed their Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Economics/Politics from The University of Sheffield from 1995 to 1998. Later, they pursued further education and earned the ACA qualification (now Fellow Chartered Accountant) from ICAEW between 2000 and 2002.
