Chu-Kai Wei's work experience begins in 1996 as a Sergent Major in the Army of the Republic of China, Taiwan. In 1998, they transitioned to become a Teaching Assistant in the Architecture Department at Chung Yuan Christian University. In 1999, Chu-Kai worked as a Designer at Yu Wang and Associates. From 2001 to 2003, they were an Architecture Designer and Urban Designer at Lee/Timchula Architects. From 2003 to 2004, they served as an Architecture Designer at EDI Architecture, Inc. Chu-Kai joined Perkins Eastman in 2004 as an Architect and stayed there until 2009. At HOK, they held the role of Associate and Project Manager from 2009 to 2015. Since November 2015, Chu-Kai has been working as the Director of Planning and Urban Design at Sasaki Associates.
