Siyambonga Rwanqa has a strong background in information security, with extensive experience in various roles within the field. Siyambonga started their career as a Supplemental Instruction Leader at Border Technikon (WSU) in 2003, where they helped guide and support students. In 2007, they worked as a Webmaster at Analytix Holdings, gaining experience in website management.

Moving forward, Siyambonga joined BBD in 2008 as a Learner Developer, where they honed their skills in software development. Siyambonga then transitioned to Transnet Freight Rail in 2009, taking on the role of Java Developer. During this time, they contributed to the development of Java-based applications.

In 2013, Siyambonga joined Transnet as an Information Security Analyst. Siyambonga played a crucial role in maintaining the security of the organization's information systems. After four years, they advanced to the position of Information Security Specialist at Transnet National Ports Authority in 2017. In this role, they continued to focus on information security, ensuring compliance with standards and implementing processes and procedures.

Currently, Siyambonga is employed at Sasfin as a Security Operations Analyst, a position they have held since 2022. Siyambonga contributes to the management of information security operations, develops and implements security standards, processes, and procedures.

Siyambonga Rwanqa has a diverse education history in the field of computer and information technology administration and management. In 1990, they graduated from Phandulwazi Agricultural High School with a Matric degree. Siyambonga then pursued a National Diploma in Information Technology from Border Technikon from 2002 to 2004.

In 2011, Siyambonga attended the Deloitte School of Risk Management and completed a course in ISO17799/27001 Implementation. In 2014, they enrolled in EC-Council and obtained the Certified Ethical Hacker v8 certification in computer and information systems security/information assurance. During the same year, Siyambonga also completed a Cyber Security Certificate from the University of Johannesburg.

Continuing their education, Siyambonga obtained two technical certifications, namely the Mimecast Gateway Technical Professional certificate and the Mimecast Gateway Technical Specialist certificate from Mimecast in 2019. Siyambonga also became a certified Cobit 5 professional through ISACA in 2013.

In terms of additional certifications, Siyambonga obtained numerous qualifications in various aspects of information security and computer technology. Siyambonga achieved the ISO 27001 Lead Implementer - Information Security Certification from PECB in May 2022. In April 2022, they obtained the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification from ISACA. Furthermore, Siyambonga attained the Certified Ethical Hacker certification from EC-Council in October 2014.

To expand their knowledge and skills, Siyambonga completed several additional certifications and training programs. These include Autopsy Basics and Hands-On from Basis Technology in May 2020, Web App Security Fundamentals from Cybrary in December 2019, Fundamental Linux Administration from Cybrary in June 2017, and Web Application Penetration Testing from Cybrary in May 2017.
