Joanna McKay is currently a Curriculum Writer at the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies, focusing on developing college courses and training initiatives within the Wellness and Community Development Unit. Prior to this role, Joanna has extensive experience in community service, mental health and addictions advising, freelance advising, writing, research, and e-marketing promotions. With a background in Community Development and Social Work, Joanna's career has been dedicated to supporting health and social development programs in various Indigenous communities.

The Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) is an Indigenous post-secondary institution, governed by First Nations leaders. With a province-wide footprint of campuses, trade and career centres, mobile training units, and many community-based program sites, SIIT programs are available all across Saskatchewan. SIIT provides applied skills training for careers in a variety of areas. Programs include both traditional and hands-on learning, with close ties to related industry stakeholders to ensure course content is strong and relevant.
