John Desjarlais is the current director at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Prior to that, they were president of i5 Contracting from December 2017 to February 2019. John has also served as the CEO of Saskatchewan River Business Corporation from May 2017 to March 2019. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing all corporate functions and directing the organization in the attainment of sales, profit, and investment goals. John has also formulated current and long range plans and objectives; represented the organization in relations with customers, external agencies and the community; and directed the development and implementation of corporate goals, objectives and policies, and procedures. Additionally, John has prepared and delivered presentations concerning the company before various public and private agencies.
John Desjarlais has a Master’s Degree in Governance and Entrepreneurship in Northern and Indigenous Areas from the University of Saskatchewan. John also has a Maintenance Management Professional certificate from the University of Saskatchewan. In addition, they have a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Saskatchewan with a concentration in Business Administration and Management, General. John also has a Certificate in Professional Communication from the University of Saskatchewan. Their undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. John also has a Certificate in Radiation and Environmental Monitoring from SIAST - Northlands College. Furthermore, they have certification from the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association (SCSA) as a Certified Safety Auditor, Leadership for Safety Excellence, and Basic Training Techniques.
