Kyla Clarke

Senior Research Engineer at Saskatchewan Research Council

Kyla Clarke has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Kyla is currently working as a Senior Research Engineer at the Saskatchewan Research Council since 2021. Prior to that, Kyla worked at Delco Water as a Senior Project Engineer from 2015 to 2021.

From 2009 to 2012, Kyla was employed at Integrated Designs Inc. as a Senior Project Engineer. Kyla'sresponsibilities included conducting greenhouse gas emission studies, simulating energy use in commercial buildings, and preparing proposal packages for consulting projects.

Before that, Kyla worked as a Research Assistant at the Particle Technology Group, Chemical Engineering in 2008. Kyla also served as a Sessional Lecturer and Engineering Problem Lab Instructor at the College of Engineering, University of Saskatchewan from 2006 to 2007, where they taught a fourth-year Chemical Engineering course.

In 2003, Kyla worked as an Intermediate Consulting Engineer at March Consulting Associates Inc. Kyla then joined NOVA Chemicals as a Plant Contact Engineer in 1999, where they were responsible for various units and played a crucial role in improving production, reducing costs, and enhancing safety and environmental performance.

Kyla started their career at BP in 1997 as a Process Engineer. During their time there, they managed projects at a liquefied petroleum gases plant and three pipeline terminals, where they were involved in process design, equipment selection, and procurement.

Throughout their career, Kyla has displayed proficiency in research, project management, and technical expertise.

Kyla Clarke holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Environmental Engineering, which they obtained from the University of Saskatchewan. Kyla pursued their doctoral studies from 2004 to 2008. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Engineering, specializing in Chemical Engineering, at the University of Saskatchewan from 1992 to 1997.

In addition to their formal education, Kyla Clarke has also obtained a certification in Environmental Management from the University of Toronto. Kyla acquired this certification in May 2015.
