Kathy Lawrence

Provincial Head, Family Medicine at Saskatchewan Health Authority

Dr. Kathy Lawrence is from Regina and completed her medical degree (1994) and Family Medicine residency training (1996) at the University of Saskatchewan (Regina Campus). She received Certification in Family Medicine in 1996 and became a Fellow of the CFPC in 2007. She also received a BSc in Biology from the University of Regina in 1992. She has practiced at the Family Medicine Teaching Unit at the Regina Centre Crossing throughout her career. She is an Associate Professor with the University of Saskatchewan and served as the Postgraduate Director for Family Medicine from 2005 to 2018.

Dr. Lawrence served as a member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada’s National Executive Committee in 2010 and completed terms as Honorary Secretary-Treasurer, President-Elect, Chair of the Board, President and Past President. In addition, she served as Board Member of the Saskatchewan College of Family Physicians (SCFP) from 1998 to 2003 and as President from 2005 to 2007. She currently chairs the CFPC’s Postgraduate Education Committee and is a member of the CFPC’s Committee on Examinations, Certification and Assessment Committee, Program Evaluation Advisory Group, Specialty Committee, Accreditation Committee and Advisory Committee for the CFPC Outcomes of Training Project. In addition, she is the family medicine representative to the Canadian Residency Accreditation Consortium’s Accreditation Process Advisory Committee.
