Trent Szabo

Executive Director, Staff Services at Saskatchewan Health Authority

Trent Szabo started his new role as the Executive Director of Human Resources (HR) Staff Services for the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) on March 5, 2018. The HR Staff Services portfolio provides scheduling, payroll, benefits, out of scope compensation and evaluation, HR service center and human resources systems support to the SHA’s management team and staff.

Trent has worked in the Saskatchewan health system for over 18 years and joins the SHA from the former Sunrise Health Region, where he led the region’s Human Resource portfolio as the Director of Staff Services. Prior to this position, he was the Region’s Director of Payroll & Benefits. Trent has a Master of Business Administration from Athabasca University, a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan and Lean Leader Certificate through the Saskatchewan Health Care Management System. He has been a member of the SHEPP Board of Trustees and currently sits on the 3sHealth Employee Benefits Committee.

Trent is excited to empower the HR Staff Services team to provide the best possible service to the SHA’s 38,000 staff so they, in turn, can focus on creating a customer and patient first experience for the people we serve.
