Vice President Operations at Sasol

Dietmar Gehle has extensive work experience in the chemical and manufacturing industry. Dietmar is currently the Vice President of Operations at Sasol since October 2019 and has held this role until the present day. Prior to that, they worked at BASF for over a decade, starting as a Plant Manager and Process & Production Manager from September 2006 to May 2008. Dietmar then took on various roles within BASF, including Commissioning Manager/Operations Manager, Senior Project Manager, Technology Manager, and Director of Manufacturing and Supply Chain Europe - Mobile Emission Catalyst. Their last role at BASF was Director of Global Operations - Mobile Emission Catalyst from September 2016 to October 2019. Before joining BASF, Dietmar Gehle worked as a Research Project Manager at Glykoz LTD in Australia from June 2005 to January 2006.

Dietmar Gehle has a diverse education history. In 2015, they attended the IESE Business School and obtained a degree in High Performance & Creative Negotiator, focusing on Entrepreneurship. From 2013 to 2014, they attended the IESE Business School - University of Navarra for a program in PLD. In 2005, they pursued a Post Doc, Research Fellow program at the Institute for Glycomics/Griffith University Gold Coast, specializing in Medicinal Chemistry. Prior to that, from 1996 to 2005, they studied at the University of Paderborn, earning a Dr. rer. nat. degree in Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. Dietmar also had research experiences in Organic Chemistry/Carbohydrate Chemistry at the University of Debrecen in 2002 and an exchange semester in Chemistry at the University of Waterloo, Canada, in 1999 to 2000.
