Nico Botha

Nico Botha is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the chemical and energy sectors, serving as the Chief Transformation Officer at Sasol since April 2003. In this role, Nico Botha leads the Sasol 2.0 transformation process within Energy Operations and Technology, focusing on enhancing gross margins and optimizing cash fixed costs. Previous positions include Vice President roles in Operations Improvement and Midland Operations, where responsibilities encompassed overseeing operations, production processes, and the journey towards World Class Operations. Other notable roles at Sasol include leading wax production facilities, managing industrial logistics operations, and operating large steam and power generation plants. Nico Botha holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from the University of Pretoria and an Electrical/Electronics Engineering degree from North-West University, complemented by an Executive Development Programme from GIBS.
