Aitor Conde Rodriguez

Head of Technology & Systems Engineering at SATLANTIS

Aitor Conde Rodriguez has a wealth of experience in the aerospace industry. Aitor currently serves as the Head of Technology & Systems Engineering at SATLANTIS since September 2018, and prior to that, they were the Head of Systems Engineering at the same company from January 2018 to September 2018.

Before joining SATLANTIS, Aitor worked at GAUSS Srl as a TT&C and OBDH Telecommunications Engineer from January 2014 to January 2018. Aitor'sresponsibilities included designing and constructing the HERCULES Onboard Computer, as well as developing the first prototype.

Aitor also co-founded Asociación AstroInnova in July 2011. During their time there, they played a key role in designing and developing the IRIS instrument for the Sunrise solar telescope and was involved in the creation of scientific weather balloons. Additionally, they collaborated in Astronomy & Popular Science events since 2005.

From November 2005 to October 2013, Aitor worked as a Telecommunications Aerospace Engineer at EUROCONTROL. Aitor was mainly involved in the RVSM Height Monitoring Unit, a program overseen by ICAO and EASA.

Furthermore, Aitor gained industry experience through an internship as a Telecommunications Payload Engineer at THALES ALENIA SPACE from September 2012 to June 2013. During this time, they focused on backtracking algorithms, genetic algorithms, and the analysis and design of switching matrices for flexible telecommunication payloads. Additionally, they developed a software tool called SMART with a CAD interface for payload design and analysis. Aitor also conducted an analysis of the connectivity of the payloads of Athena-Fidus and Kazsat 3 satellites.

Aitor Conde Rodriguez completed their education in the field of engineering. Aitor obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Satellites and orbital platforms from Sapienza Università di Roma in 2012. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from the University of Deusto between 2003 and 2005. Aitor also holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Deusto, which they obtained between 2000 and 2003. In addition to their formal education, Aitor acquired a certification in Embedded Systems - Shape the World from edX in May 2015.
