Tarek Tharwat

Tarek Tharwat has a strong and extensive work experience in the field of internal audit and accounting. TAREK started their career with Deloitte Egypt as a Senior Auditor in 1992. After working there for 10 years, they joined Rhodia as a Group Chief Accountant in Egypt. In 2003, they moved to ALJ as an Internal Audit Supervisor and later joined Toyota Algerie as an Internal Audit Manager in 2004.

Tarek then worked at Morgan International as an Instructor before joining Orascom Construction Industries as an Internal Audit Manager in 2007. TAREK further served as the Chief Internal Auditor at SBG Public Buildings & Airports, where they were responsible for both operational and financial audit assignments using the Risk Based Audit Approach.

Currently, Tarek holds the position of VP Chief Audit Executive at Saudi Arabian Airlines Catering. In this role, they direct the internal audit functions, participates in hiring and training audit staff, and leads the planning and execution of all audit assignments.

Throughout their career, Tarek has acquired various certifications including CIA, CRMA, CFC, CCA, and CISA. TAREK holds an MBA degree and has demonstrated expertise in risk assessment, audit planning, and financial auditing.

Tarek Tharwat has a strong educational background with various certifications and degrees. In 1991, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Alexandria University. TAREK'spursuit of knowledge continued as they obtained certifications from reputable institutions such as the Institute of Internal Auditors, where they became a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) in 2006. TAREK further specialized in Internal Audit through the Institute for Internal Controls, earning the designation of Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA) in 2007. In the same year, they obtained a certification as a Certified Construction Auditor (CCA) from the National Association of Construction Auditors (NACA). In 2011, Tarek completed their Master's in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus in International Business from the University of Liverpool. Tarek's expertise expanded into finance as they became a Certified Financial Consultant (CFC) through the Institute of Financial Consultants (ifc) in 2012. Additionally, they obtained a certification as a Certified Risk Management Auditor (CRMA) from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in 2013. Continuing to enhance their skills, Tarek earned the Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) certification from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) in 2020. Lastly, they obtained the Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. in 2021.
