Daniel Castro

Daniel Castro has a strong background in data analysis and geographic information systems (GIS). Their most recent role was as a Data Analyst at Savage X Fenty by Rihanna, starting in 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Locana from 2019 to 2022, where they served as a Scrum Master and Data Analyst. As a Scrum Master, they facilitated sprint planning, daily scrums, and sprint reviews, and led a team of analysts and engineers. As a Data Analyst, they supported and analyzed mapping data quality and contributed to OpenStreetMap (OSM) data. Castro also created and maintained dashboards for communicating with program managers and clients. Before that, they worked as an IT Intern - GIS at Weyerhaeuser in 2018, where they supported the Timberlands GIS Services team and gained experience in Python and ArcMap. Their earliest work experience was as a GIS Intern at Politics of the Possible in 2017, where they conducted research on legislative redistricting and engaged in community outreach activities.

Daniel Castro has a diverse education history. In 2016, they attended North Seattle College and earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Business. Daniel then transferred to the University of Washington and pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Geographic Information Systems from 2017 to 2018. In 2019, Daniel obtained a certificate in Python Programming from the University of Washington.

More recently, in 2022, they completed a course on Tableau Fundamentals at DataCamp. Alongside their formal education, Daniel also obtained the Scrum Master Certified (SMC) certification from the Scrum Alliance in May 2022.
