Shannon Powers

Shannon Powers is an experienced emergency management professional currently serving as the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator and Principal Emergency Management Preparedness Specialist at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions since February 2017. With a strong background in emergency management, Shannon has developed and conducted drills and exercises and managed scenario development schedules. Previously, Shannon held roles as a Senior Emergency Management Preparedness Specialist and Emergency Communications Specialist, enhancing site responses to severe weather and serving as a subject matter expert for the Savannah River Site Emergency Plan. Additional experience includes emergency dispatching for Columbia County Sheriffs, serving as a crossing guard, and various roles in childcare and medical billing. Shannon holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Communications from Augusta State University.
