Trey Johnson

Trey Johnson has extensive experience in the retail merchandising sector, currently serving as Chief Merchandising Officer at Save A Lot since April 2022. Johnson held a prior role as Strategic EVP & Company Officer for an executive opportunity from January 2021 to May 2022 and was EVP, Chief Merchandising and Marketing Officer at The Save Mart Companies from 2018 to 2021, overseeing P&L and leading a team of twelve. Previous positions include SVP, GMM Food & Consumables at Big Lots Stores; Senior Vice President Food at Family Dollar; VP/GMM Food & Consumables at Sears; and Chief Merchandising Officer at Walmart, where Johnson conceptualized a new format, “Marketside.” Further experience includes roles at SuperValu and Albertsons, culminating in a solid background in strategic direction, P&L management, and marketing leadership across various food and consumables categories. Johnson holds a BA in Psychology from North Central College.
