Afnan Aleem

Afnan Aleem has over two decades of work experience in various management, administrative, marketing, and media positions in different military and civil organizations. They have held roles such as a Senior Secretary at ICRC, a Security Focal Point at the United Nations World Health Organization, and a Security Analyst at the U.S. Department of State - Diplomatic Security. Afnan also has experience with Save the Children organizations, including roles as a Director Safety and Security in Pakistan for Save the Children US, a Regional Safety & Security Director for Middle East and Eastern Europe at Save the Children International, and their current position as the Global Head of Safeguarding Investigations & External Relations at Save the Children Canada. They have extensive experience in risk management, crisis management, conducting safeguarding investigations, and managing health, safety, and security portfolios. Afnan has worked across various regions, including Asia, America, Africa, and Europe, and has led security teams operating in conflict zones such as Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Ukraine. They have also excelled in building and mentoring security teams, developing security training programs, and fulfilling reporting requirements for donors and home offices.

- In 2014, Afnan completed a Certified Protection Professional Review program in Security Management from the American Society of Industrial Security ASIS.

- From 2005 to 2006, Afnan pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General from the City University of Science and Information Technology.

- Afnan obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) - Hons. degree in Agriculture, Agriculture Operations, and Related Sciences from N.W.F.P. Agricultural University Peshawar, Pakistan, from 1995 to 2000.

- In 2016, Afnan received the UK Level-3 Award Education and Training (QCF) from NUCO Academy Telford, UK, in Trade and Industrial Teacher Education.

- That same year, Afnan also acquired the UK Level-3 Health and Safety Compliance degree, specializing in Occupational Safety and Health Technology/Technician, from NUCO Academy Telford, UK.

- In 2016, Afnan completed the UK Level-3 Award in Advanced First Aid Instructor Training from NUCO Academy Telford, UK, focusing on Emergency Room/Trauma Nursing.
