Gabriella Waaijman

Gabriella Waaijman serves as Chief Operating Officer and Global Humanitarian Director at Save the Children International since September 2019, driving the organization's global humanitarian agenda to support children in crisis. Previously, from November 2017 to August 2019, Gabriella held the position of Director of the Humanitarian and Stabilisation Operations Team for DFID at Palladium, overseeing strategic direction and operational execution for humanitarian efforts. Gabriella's earlier experience includes serving as Regional Director for East Africa and Yemen at the Norwegian Refugee Council, leading diverse operations across multiple countries, and holding various leadership roles within the United Nations OCHA, including Head of Office in Eastern Africa and Central Asia. Gabriella's academic background includes degrees in Public Administration from Leiden University and Psychology from the University of South Africa, alongside additional education at the University of Amsterdam and Alkwin Kollege.
