Roberto Alvarez Torres is an experienced professional with a focus on child rights and advocacy. Currently serving as a Child Participation Specialist and Regional Child Rights Specialist at Save the Children International since February 2017, Roberto has also held roles such as Project Coordinator on Child Rights Governance and Advocacy and Communications Officer within the organization. Prior experience includes serving as the Advocacy and Communication Director at Movimiento Infantil "Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores" from December 2009 to February 2017, and as a Trainer at Movimiento de Mujeres "María Elena Cuadra" in 2015, where Roberto built capacities on sexual and reproductive rights, youth leadership, and social and political advocacy. Academically, Roberto holds a Licenciatura in Anesthesia and Resuscitation from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua and several diplomas in leadership, gender, and public policy auditing, and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Project Management at Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería.
