Cat Carter is an accomplished safeguarding professional with extensive experience in child safeguarding and humanitarian response. Currently serving as the Director of Safeguarding at Save the Children UK since March 2022, Cat previously held several key positions at Save the Children International, including Global Lead for Community Engagement & Accountability and Head of Humanitarian Child Safeguarding from April 2018 to March 2022. Cat's work focuses on enhancing accountability to children during emergency responses, effective risk management, and coaching local staff while evaluating safeguarding efforts. Prior experience at Save the Children UK from August 2008 to March 2018 includes roles as Senior Conflict & Humanitarian Safeguarding Advisor and Head of Humanitarian Information and Communications. Cat holds a BA in International Relations & Anthropology from the University of Sussex.
