Lauren Simmons

Lauren Simmons is an experienced professional in education and climate change, currently serving as an Advisor for Education in Emergencies at Save the Children US and as a Short Term Consultant for Strategic Partnerships and Capabilities at the Global Partnership for Education. Previously, Lauren led the development of a Climate Storytelling Toolkit as a Consultant at The Aspen Institute and held advisory roles focused on climate change and early childhood care at Save the Children US. With a background as Senior Project Manager and Graduate Research Assistant at the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University, Lauren conducted significant research on climate action plans and the education sector. Other notable roles include Director of Programs at Horizons Greater Washington, where significant program improvements were achieved, and previous research positions at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on equity and parental involvement in education. Lauren holds a Master's degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and has a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Indiana University Bloomington.
