Josh Garskof has had a diverse range of work experience. Josh started their career as a Senior Editor at Old-House Journal from 1993 to 1997, followed by being an Editor at Country Journal from 1997 to 1999. Josh then worked as an Articles Editor at This Old House Ventures at Time Inc. from 1999 to 2001, and as an Executive Editor at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia from 2001 to 2003.
From 2004 to 2014, they held various roles such as Writer, Editor, and Consultant at publications including Architectural Digest, Health, Parents, Popular Science, Real Simple, and The New York Times. During this time, they also served as a retainered editorial consultant to Sunset Books and authored or edited several home design and how-to books.
In 2007, they became a Columnist at Money Magazine, a position they held until 2015. Following this, they worked as a Contract Ghostwriter at Ladies Home Journal from 2013 to 2014.
From 2014 to 2018, they joined Domus Kids as a Director of Grants, where they oversaw foundation, corporate, and government fundraising for a nonprofit organization.
Since 2018, they have been with Save the Sound, initially as the Director of Foundation Relations and currently as the Senior Director of Philanthropy.
Josh Garskof obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Connecticut.
