Joe Shire

Joe Shire is currently the engineering manager at Savion. Prior to that, they worked as a technical sales engineer at First Solar from July 2018 to April 2021. Before that, they were a PV designer and project engineer at Integral Group from June 2016 to July 2018, where they were responsible for the design of solar and battery storage systems for commercial buildings and campuses. Joe also developed a battery storage system sizing tool for emergency backup/peak shaving applications. From June 2015 to September 2015, they were a module design intern at SunPower Corporation. From June 2013 to August 2013, they were a device development summer intern at Genentech. From September 2012 to December 2013, they were a research assistant in Dr. Mark S. Goorsky's lab at UCLA.

Joe Shire has a Master of Science in Engineering with an Emphasis in Renewable Energy from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. Joe has also completed a certification from HeatSpring in Comprehensive Solar Plus Storage.

Joe Shire works with Joshua Crumpler - Senior Renewables Civil Engineer, Charles Asheim - Senior Project Manager, and James McDaniel - Engineering Manager. Their manager is Gary Parker, VP, Engineering, Procurement & Construction.
