Melissa Roderick Sphr

Melissa Roderick, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has extensive experience in the field of human resources. Melissa Roderick, currently holds the position of Executive Director of Human Resources at Sawdey Solution Services since January 2017. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Human Resources at Shumsky from 2015 to 2016.

Before joining Shumsky, Melissa worked as a Senior Human Resources Leader from October 2013 to December 2014. During this time, they taught courses in Business Communications and Leadership in Organizations at Clark State Community College. Melissa Roderick, also served as a Human Resources advisor for a nonprofit organization called Clothes That Work and mentored teams for the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life.

From 2005 to 2013, Melissa held the position of Vice President of Human Resources at Premier Physician Services. In this role, they oversaw the development and execution of the company's human resource strategy. Melissa Roderick, managed a department of nine direct reports and implemented programs to evaluate and improve HR practices.

Prior to their time at Premier Physician Services, Melissa worked as the first Human Resources Manager at The Greentree Group from 2001 to 2005. Melissa Roderick, was responsible for shaping and directing all HR functions, including policy development and recruiting.

Melissa's career in human resources began at Blockbuster, where they worked as a Regional Human Resources Manager from 2000 to 2001. During this time, they managed HR programs for 1700 employees across multiple states and achieved significant cost savings by decreasing the number of inactive personnel.

Melissa started their career at Lockheed Martin, where they held the position of Manager of Human Resources from 1996 to 2000. Melissa Roderick, partnered with senior management to achieve business initiatives and managed various HR activities such as benefits, training, recruiting, and employee relations.

Melissa Roderick, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, has a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Executive Human Resource Development from Xavier University, which they obtained from 1999 to 2001. Additionally, Melissa has obtained multiple certifications throughout their career. In 2005, they received the Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute. Later, in 2015, Melissa obtained the SHRM-SCP certification from SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management). Furthermore, Melissa earned a Labor Relations Certificate from Cornell University in May 2023.
