Samuel Howald

Samuel Howald serves as a Senior Legal Counsel in the Legal & Compliance Corporate Team at SBB CFF FFS since June 2021, focusing on competition law and regulated network access. Prior to this role, Samuel Howald specialized in energy market law at Bundesamt für Energie BFE, where legislative revisions were undertaken concerning electricity supply and energy legislation. Additional experience includes a secondment at the European Commission within the Directorate-General for Energy and positions at Schellenberg Wittmer and Prager Dreifuss AG, concentrating on competition law and antitrust issues. Samuel Howald holds a Dr. iur. from the University of Zurich and an Anwaltspatent from the Obergericht des Kantons Bern, along with a Master of Law from the University of Bern.
