Rutger Geel

Rutger Geel is a seasoned tax professional with extensive experience in tax management, currently serving as a Tax Manager at SBM Offshore since September 2025. Prior to this role, Rutger held similar positions at Van Oord, Jumbo Maritime, Bluewater Energy Services, and Heerema Marine Contractors, where responsibilities included overseeing tax-related matters and projects. Rutger began a career in taxation at BDO Nederland and CROP accountants & adviseurs as a tax advisor. Academic credentials include a Master of Laws (LLM) in Tax Law/Taxation from the University of Amsterdam and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Economics from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, along with full membership in The Dutch Association of Tax Advisers.
