Peggy Giakoumelos

Peggy Giakoumelos is an experienced journalist and audio producer currently working with SBS News in Australia since May 2006, specializing in audio and digital news production, contributing to significant growth in podcast downloads. Prior to this role, Peggy served as a tutor in radio production at Macquarie University and worked as a freelance producer and writer for ABC, producing radio documentaries on migration patterns in Greece. Additionally, Peggy has held various social welfare roles, including serving as an Official Visitor for the NSW Department of Health, monitoring psychiatric facilities in Sydney.
