Chua Mui Hoong

Ms. Chua Mui Hoong is an Independent Non-Executive Director of SBS Transit Ltd. She is a member of both the Audit and Risk Committee and the Service Quality Committee.

Ms. Chua is a journalist and editor. She is the associate editor of The Straits Times, Singapore’s leading English language daily news publication, and was the Opinion editor from 2011 to 2020. She is the author of several books, including Singapore, Disrupted (2018).

She writes regularly on social and political affairs.

She is a former board member of the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority, where she was a member of the Audit and Risk Committee. She is also a former director of Straits Times Press, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings.

Ms. Chua holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English literature from Cambridge University and a Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School.
