Kevin Wessinger currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services since January 2023. Previously, Kevin held significant leadership roles including Pediatric Council Chair and President of the South Carolina Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics from July 2015 to December 2022, as well as President and CEO of the South Carolina Pediatric Alliance during the same timeframe, overseeing a pediatric supergroup's clinical quality and performance. Kevin was also the President of Sandhills Pediatric & Adolescent Clinic from July 2012 to December 2022, where active patient care and management of clinical and business operations were primary responsibilities. Additionally, Kevin was a managing member at Pediatric After Hours Care and practiced as a pediatrician at Sandhills Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic for over three decades. Kevin completed a Doctor of Medicine degree at the Medical University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology at Clemson University.
