Carlos Martinez has a diverse work experience in the field of robotics and industrial automation. Carlos is currently the Founder Partner and CTO at Scalable Robotics, where they design system architecture and develops technologies that allow non-experts to program robot systems in a manufacturing environment.

Prior to this, Carlos worked at ABB for over 20 years. Carlos started as a Customer Service Engineer, where they initiated the customer service department in Monterrey, Mexico, and provided technical support to customers across Mexico. Carlos also led the technical activities of the first ABB Robotic Laser Project in the USA.

Carlos then moved on to work as a Senior Software Engineer and Account Manager, followed by a role as a Senior Software Engineer. During this time, they gained expertise in software development and engineering.

In 2006, Carlos became a Research Scientist at ABB, responsible for developing Ease-of-Use solutions and robot prototypes. Carlos successfully delivered a prototype for designing, deploying, and executing user interfaces for industrial robot programs, which was adopted as a product within nine weeks. Carlos also contributed to the development of a 3D random robotic pick and place application for the automotive industry.

In 2011, Carlos was promoted to the role of Principal Scientist, where they led cross-functional teams in developing robotic prototypes and provided technical expertise for new concepts to interact with ABB robots. Carlos also acted as a Temporary Deputy Department Manager for the Lab for the CR Lab in Connecticut, delivering software architecture and concepts for new programming tools.

In their most recent role at ABB as a Research Team Leader, Carlos led a research team in delivering innovative vision and sensing technologies for more intelligent solutions. Carlos managed and supported multiple R&D projects related to intelligent robotics and industrial automation, with a focus on Ease-of-Use. Carlos also delivered prototypes to enable inexperienced users to teach a welding robot using hand gestures and conducted inspection and maintenance activities for a Fortune 500 company.

Throughout their career, Carlos has demonstrated a strong technical background, project management skills, and expertise in developing innovative robotic solutions.

Carlos Martinez pursued their education at the University of Connecticut School of Business from 2008 to 2010, where they attained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
