Nick Tsinonis

Co-Founder at Scamalytics

Nick Tsinonis is the co-founder of Scamalytics, a leading high-tech SaaS solution developed to help combat and eliminate dating fraud. Through a combination of Machine Learning and Big Data technologies, Scamalytics analyses fraud behaviour and networks in real-time, so that dating sites are constantly and actively protected against new scammers/fraudsters and their changing tactics. Scamalytics have also created the world’s largest shared fraud database, which is shared between their partners. This helps sites reduce the cost, and increase quality, of managing fraud and also reduces chargeback fees and their costs.

Prior to Scamalytics, Nick was the co-founder of RecSys Ltd, a company that uses big data techniques and advanced machine learning technology to successfully build adaptive and predictive models for online businesses. Proven case studies show that these models help businesses increase user activity, optimize conversions and retention, and thus improve sales and profitability.

Before RecSys, Nick founded Yes Mediatech Ltd, where they served as the head of project management for BBC iPlayer. Nick was also the founder and CTO of SAReunited.com, a social networking site for South Africans.

Nick has a long history in the tech industry, starting as a senior progress developer/analyst at TalkTalk, followed by a senior programmer role at Rentokil Initial. Nick then became the head of project management (UK) at Aqua Online before finally starting Scamalytics.

Nick Tsinonis has a BCom (Hon) from the University of the Witwatersrand and a degree from SAHETI.
