Matt Kazan

Matt Kazan currently serves as the Vice President of Policy & Government Affairs at SCAN, a position held since December 2023. Prior roles include Professor of the Practice at the University of Denver from September 2021 to January 2024 and Managing Director at Avalere Health from April 2019 to December 2023. Kazan's experience in public policy is highlighted by a tenure as Senior Health Policy Advisor at the United States Senate Committee on Finance from September 2008 to March 2019, where significant contributions included managing a diverse portfolio of Medicare-related issues and developing key legislative strategies, including provisions in landmark laws such as the Affordable Care Act and the CHRONIC Care Act. Kazan holds a Master's in Public Policy focused on Health Policy from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, English, and Economics from the University of Denver.
