Varun Kumar

Varun Kumar, MD FACP, is a seasoned medical professional serving as Vice President and Medical Director of Quality and Member Experience at SCAN since January 2023, where leadership efforts have successfully improved California ratings. At Houston Methodist, Varun holds multiple roles, including Medical Director of Inpatient Services for Methodist ACO and Lead Hospitalist for Value-Based Care, with additional experience as a Hospitalist Physician. Varun co-founded and served as CEO of Roxie Health, providing a data-driven solution to prevent falls among seniors. Other notable experiences include a Biodesign Fellowship in Digital Health at Texas Medical Center, board membership with Devoted Medical Group of Texas, and significant contributions to Baylor College of Medicine as a resident and clinical researcher. Varun received a Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine, a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from Rice University, and a certificate in Innovation Execution from Stanford University.
