Bubacarr G Kaira

Research Scientist - Antibody Analyst at Scancell

Bubacarr G Kaira has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. In 2003, they worked as a Pharmacy Technician at Kolboten Pharmacy for a brief period. From 1999 to 2004, they served as a Nursing Assistant at Oppsal Nursing Home.

In the academic field, Bubacarr started their research work at the University of Nottingham in 2009 as a Research Technician, where they used various biophysical techniques to study protein-protein, protein-nucleic acid, and protein-peptide interactions. Bubacarr G also held the position of Research Assistant from 2013 to 2018, focusing on understanding the molecular mechanisms of blood coagulation proteins through Macromolecular Crystallography.

In 2019, Bubacarr worked as a Researcher at the University of Nottingham, crystallizing DNA complexes to investigate bacterial quorum sensing proteins. Later in 2020, they joined The Binding Site as a Production Support Specialist, contributing to the improvement of antibody purification and analysis methods, as well as developing new antibody specificity assessment protocols.

Currently, Bubacarr is serving as a Research Scientist - Antibody Analyst at SCANCELL Limited, Biodiscovery Institute, University of Nottingham since 2021.

Bubacarr G Kaira began their education in 2001 at Sofienberg Technical High School in Oslo, Norway, where they studied for two years. In 2003, they moved to Elvebakken Upper Secondary School in Oslo, completing their secondary education. In 2004, they enrolled at the University of Leicester and pursued a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Medical Biochemistry, which they completed in 2007.

After obtaining their undergraduate degree, Bubacarr continued their studies at the University of Leicester from 2008 to 2009, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Cancer Cell and Molecular Biology. Bubacarr G researched the molecular mechanism of BAK, a key step in apoptosis, during this program.

From 2014 to 2019, Bubacarr was enrolled part-time in the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program at the University of Nottingham. Bubacarr G'sfield of study in this program was Pharmacy.
