Alexis C. Landes is Managing Principal at SCAPE, where she oversees firm-wide business development, project development, and finances. She liaises with clients to understand their needs, working within SCAPE to develop tailored design solutions, operational strategies, and project teams.
As an experienced landscape designer and urban planner, Alexis has led the project teams for the Resilient Boston Harbor Vision and subsequent coastal resilience plan for Dorchester, the largest neighborhood in the city; she has also developed the firm’s portfolio of projects in Detroit, including the Islandview Greater Villages Planning Strategy and the Greater Corktown Neighborhood Planning Framework.
Alexis currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Stone Living Lab. From 2013 to 2018, she was an adjunct faculty member at the Rhode Island School of Design, where she served as a design critic and taught a seminar on contemporary landscape practice. Since 2015, she has continued to lecture about professional practice for the graduating class of the Landscape Architecture program at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD). Alexis holds a Bachelor’s in Visual Arts and Sociology from Oberlin College and a Master’s in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University.
