Dr. Ir. Peter Bouwman

Dr. Ir. Peter Bouwman is an accomplished expert in hydrogen technologies with extensive experience in research and development. Currently serving as the Head of R&D Hydrogen Industrial and CTO at Schaeffler since January 2021, Peter previously held senior roles at Toray Industries, Inc. and Nedstack PEM Fuel Cells, focusing on sustainable energy solutions and fuel cell technology. In earlier positions, Peter contributed to the advancement of electro-chemical hydrogen compression at Hydrogen Efficiency Technologies - HyET, managed fuel cell technology projects at ECN, and provided customer support at Johnson Matthey. Peter has also worked as an Assistant Research Professor at the Naval Research Laboratory, where notable achievements included fuel cell powered UAV advancements. Academic credentials include a MSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Twente and a PhD focusing on lithium intercalation and micro-battery technologies.
