Alison Matas Smith

Alison Matas Smith has over 10 years of work experience in various roles within the communications and journalism industry. Alison is currently the Director of Communications at Schauer Group, Inc. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Development at Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio. Alison also served as a reporter at The Canton Repository for seven years. Throughout their career, Alison has gained experience as an intern and staff writer at The Baltimore Sun, as well as an assistant city editor and enterprise reporter at Columbia Missourian. Additionally, they worked as a copy editor and an enterprise reporter at the same publication. Alison also had freelance experience at Kent Patch and an internship at Marietta College Relations. Alison holds a degree in journalism from the Missouri School of Journalism.

Alison Matas Smith completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, Public Relations, and Leadership at Marietta College from 2007 to 2011. Following this, they pursued further education at the University of Missouri-Columbia and obtained a Master of Arts degree in Journalism from 2011 to 2013.
