Annie Miskewitch

Annie Miskewitch is the executive director at Schaumburg Township District Library. Prior to their current position, Miskewitch served as the deputy director at the same library from June 2017 to December 2019. In their role as deputy director, Miskewitch was responsible for assisting the library director in the administration of all library services, personnel, operations, and programs. This included assuming the duties of the library director in their absence, directly overseeing maintenance of building and grounds for the central location and Hanover Park and Hoffman Estates branches, and overseeing IT needs including the library website and electronic resources. Miskewitch was also responsible for coaching and counseling department heads in leadership skills, management practices, and conflict resolution; hiring and training staff; and actively participating in the developmental plans of subordinate employees. Additionally, they kept informed of current trends and developments affecting libraries, attended monthly Board of Trustee meetings and committee meetings, and represented the library at community and outside organizational functions.

Annie Miskewitch's educational career includes a Bachelor of Arts in English and American Studies from DePaul University, a Master of Arts in Professional, Technical, Business, and Scientific Writing from DePaul University, and a Master of Science in Library Information Systems from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Annie also participated in the American Library Association Leadership Academy and the Harwood Institute's Library Leadership in a Digital Age program at Harvard University's Graduate School of Education.
