Casey Di Cesare is an accomplished winemaker with extensive experience in the beverage industry. At Scheid Family Wines since January 2017, Casey has held various roles including Winemaker, Assistant Winemaker, and Enologist. Prior experience includes a cidermaking internship at South Hill Cider and a position as a Chemical Analyst at Ithaca Beer Co. Additionally, Casey contributed to product development at EuMotus and worked as a winemaking intern and part-time cellar worker at Cinquain Cellars. Earlier career achievements also include leading the training department at Altus Sports Institute. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Viticulture and Enology from Cornell University and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from UCLA.

Al Scheid first saw untapped potential in Monterey County in 1972 when the wine region was in its infancy. What started as a grape growing operation that sold 100% of its production to other wineries has evolved into a vertically integrated grapes-to-glass family business focused on global and private label brands. Our estate vineyards have been certified sustainable since 2014 along with the estate winery since 2018. We currently farm over 600 acres of organically certified vineyards. The Scheid Family Wines globally distributed brand portfolio includes Scheid Vineyards, Sunny with a Chance of Flowers, VDR (Very Dark Red), Grandeur (made with organic grapes), Fog & Light, Metz Road, District 7, Ryder Estate, and HOXIE, a premium wine spritzer.
