Paola Vidales Villicana is currently a Viticulture Associate and previously held the position of Viticulture Technician at Scheid Family Wines since February 2023. Prior to this, Paola worked as a Vineyard Operations Intern with the University of California Cooperative Extension from April 2022 to March 2023, contributing to various research projects focused on vineyard mechanization, irrigation management, and soil health. Paola's experience also includes roles as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at California State University, Fresno, a Viticulture Technician Intern at Constellation Brands, and a Field Technician at Pacific Agronomics Inc. An earlier research intern role at SmartWash Solutions involved evaluating and improving antimicrobial efficacy in water. Paola holds a Bachelor's degree in Plant Sciences from California State University, Fresno, and an Associate of Science in Natural Sciences from Hartnell College.

Al Scheid first saw untapped potential in Monterey County in 1972 when the wine region was in its infancy.
