Amotz Maimon is a Distinguished Technology Fellow at Schmidt Futures. Amotz was previously a VP / Distinguished Engineer at Amazon from May 2017 to January 2021. Prior to that, they were at Glilot Capital Partners. Before that, they were at Yahoo! from January 2011 to April 2017 where they were the Chief Architect.

At Yahoo!, they led the engineering transformation to complete continuous delivery, increasing the speed of software production updates by 4x - 5x and fully integrating QA into development. Amotz also successfully led the Yahoo information & cyber security team as CISO driving information security roadmap, technology, operation, and risk management; driving all offensive, defensive, and governance security programs. In addition, they led technology strategy, architecture, and governance for Yahoo including infrastructures, cloud platform, big data, mobile, web, search, and advertising products. Amotz modernized Yahoo platforms and application with container based, micro-service, open source based architecture as a foundation to Yahoo’s elastic cloud platform. Amotz also led Yahoo tech talent & excellence effort, chair of Yahoo tech conference, internal tech information program, and open source activities.

Amotz Maimon has a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Tel Aviv University as well as an MBA in Business from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School.
