Mr. Bloom practices as a member of the firm’s consumer rights team. Primarily he represents plaintiffs, consumers, and employees in class action and consumer cases. He has practiced in federal and state courts throughout the country. Mr. Bloom has represented the trustees, fiduciaries, and participants of ERISA-covered plans, including defined contribution plans, 401(k) plans, pension plans, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), and welfare plans in a wide variety of ERISA claims related to the plan management, fees and benefits. He has also represented clients ranging from businesses like banks and hedge funds to employees, shareholders, consumers, and property owners as plaintiffs and defendants in commercial cases of many kinds, including securities, bankruptcy, real estate, and corporate and contractual disputes.
James A. Bloom graduated from Tulane University (B.A. 2003) and cum laude from the Washington University School of Law (J.D. 2008), where he served as an Executive Editor of the Washington University Law Review. Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate at Keller Rohrback, LLP in Phoenix, Arizona. He is admitted to California and Arizona.
