Taylor Ellis has a diverse work experience in the education field. They started their career as a Teacher at Uplift Education in 2010, then moved on to Endeavor College Prep in 2012 and Bellflower Unified School District in 2014. In 2016, they joined Green Dot Public Schools as an Administrator. Most recently, Taylor has worked at Scholarship Prep Public Schools, first as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction from 2019 to 2020, and currently as the Chief Academic Officer since September 2020.
Taylor Ellis earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara between 2005 and 2009. From 2012 to 2014, they attended California State University, Long Beach, where they obtained a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. In 2014 and 2015, Taylor completed their Preliminary Administrative Services Credential in Educational Leadership and Administration, General at the same institution. Lastly, between 2017 and 2019, they pursued a Clear Administrative Services Credential in Educational Leadership and Administration at California State University-Dominguez Hills.

Scholarship Prep (“SP”) is an award-winning charter school network in Southern California. SP currently operates 3 public charter schools across Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego Counties. Founded in 2016, SP is committed to creating community change by operating university-inspired, trauma-informed public schools for all students, especially those experiencing homelessness or those in the foster care system.
