Waqar Ahmad

Waqar Ahmad is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in various roles across multiple industries. Currently serving as the Director of Metadata at Scholastic since February 2021, Waqar has a strong background in quality engineering with Ecolab, where significant positions included Senior Quality Engineer and Quality Engineer in Medical Devices. A freelance photographer since April 2012, Waqar specializes in travel, photojournalism, and portrait photography, working with notable clients such as Explore Minnesota and the State of Minnesota. Previous roles also encompass business development, digital technology management, and project management across diverse organizations, including Global Media Consultants, University of Minnesota, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Waqar holds a BS in Business Management with a focus on Communications and Information Systems from Brigham Young University and has attended both New York University and the School of Visual Arts for further education.
