Katie Charner-Laird

Katie Charner-Laird is an experienced educator and administrator participating in the NAIS Aspiring Heads Fellowship as of March 2024, designed for independent school leaders aiming for headship. Currently serving as the Associate Head of School for Teaching, Learning, and Equity at Riverbend School since June 2022, Katie has held significant leadership positions, including Head of Lower School at The Fessenden School and Principal at both Cambridgeport School and Newton Public Schools. With a strong foundation in education, Katie holds a Master’s Degree in School Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education, a Master’s Degree in Developmental Teacher Education from UC Berkeley, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Swarthmore College.
