Reno Ciolfi

Assistant Superintendent at School District No. 43

Reno Ciolfi is the current Assistant Superintendent at School District No. 43. Reno has held this position since July 2012.

Prior to their current role, Reno served as the Director of Instruction for the Burnaby School District from July 1999 to July 2012. In this role, they were responsible for staff development, English language learners, the Building Your Leadership Capacity Program, the Joint Professional Growth Plan Committee, the Joint Professional Development Committee, the Teacher Mentorship Program, learning transition services, physical education and healthy schools, school completion and beyond, the District Student Advisory Council, the District K-to-12 Student Tracking Committee, provincial resource programs in the Burnaby School District, secondary school staffing, and research proposal screening.

Before their time in Burnaby, Reno served as a Principal in both the Nanaimo School District and School District #74 (Gold Trail). Reno began their career as a Vice Principal in School District No. 69 Qualicum.

Reno Ciolfi began their educational career with a Bachelor of Science from The University of British Columbia. Reno then earned their Master of Education from the University of Oregon, before completing their Doctor of Education at Nova Southeastern University.

They are on a team with Rob Zambrano - Assistant Superintendent, Gerald Shong - Assistant Superintendent, and Carey Chute - Assistant Superintendent. Reno Ciolfi reports to Patricia Gartland, Superintendent.
