Michael Johnson is a highly experienced educator and robotics advocate with a diverse background in engineering and teaching. Currently serving as a High School Engineering and Robotics Teacher at the School District of Philadelphia since September 2009, Michael has taught various subjects including Physics and Chemistry. As the Head Coach of Central High School's RoboLancers, Michael leads multiple robotics teams and oversees a Business team managing citywide outreach. Michael is actively involved in workforce development as a Board Member for the Internet of Things for Agriculture and previously served as Event Director and Executive Director of the Philadelphia Robotics Coalition, which aims to foster mentorship in STEM. Michael also has experience as a Program Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania and held leadership roles in robotics coalitions. An alumnus of both the University of Pennsylvania and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Michael holds advanced degrees in Urban Education and Mechanical Engineering.
