Jacob Ivy is a Scientist at SCHOTT since December 2021 and continues to advance research as a PhD student at the Colorado School of Mines since January 2015. Jacob's research focuses on the impact of various defects on domain wall movement in ferroelectric materials, particularly exploring phonon transport in lead-zirconate-titanate (PZT). Serving as the Programming Committee Chair for the ACerS Presidents Council of Student Advisors (PCSA) since October 2015, Jacob organizes programs that enhance student engagement within the ceramics community. Previous experience includes a role as a Teaching Assistant at Missouri S&T, where instruction in Applied Glass Forming was provided, a Research and Development Intern position at Vesuvius USA, where analytical procedures were developed, and a Ceramic Engineering Co-op at Kohler Co. focused on product quality improvement. Jacob holds a PhD in Materials Science from the Colorado School of Mines and a degree in Ceramic Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
