Dave Mertens is an experienced lawyer with a robust academic background in law and commercial litigation. Currently serving as a lawyer at Schoups since November 2010, Mertens has also held significant roles at the University of Antwerp as a postdoctoral researcher and guest professor from January 2012 to September 2022. Mertens completed a PhD focused on "Protection of Goodwill," with a public defense in October 2010 and subsequent publication by Intersentia in 2011. Prior legal experience includes positions at Schoups, Van Bosstraeten & Co., and Linklaters De Bandt, specializing in commercial litigation.
