Bernhard Breytenbach

Bernhard Breytenbach is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in software development and systems engineering. Currently serving as a Mission Critical Engineer at Schuberg Philis since March 2025, Bernhard also volunteers as a Manschap at Brandweer Amsterdam-Amstelland. Prior to these roles, Bernhard held the position of Senior Software Engineer at MessageBird from January 2020 to March 2025, and worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Globee and a Senior PHP Systems Developer/Linux DevOps at Collivery.net. Bernhard began a freelance web development venture as Coffee Code in 2013 and has contributed to various organizations, including as a PHP Developer at Assemble Online and as a Chairperson at House Luminous. Educationally, Bernhard obtained a BEng in Electronic Engineering from the University of Pretoria and has engaged in various initiatives, including founding Vertaal Afrikaans and serving as a Student Ambassador at Google.
