James "Jaime" then pursued a BA in Economics and English at Ohio Wesleyan University, graduating in 1981. Following this, from 1981 to 1984, Sisto attended Capital University Law School, where they obtained a JD degree with a focus on General Legal Studies and International Law. In 1982, Sisto briefly pursued coursework in International Commercial and European Union Legal Studies at the University of Exeter. Later, from 1986 to 1988, they attended the Georgetown University Law Center, earning an LLM degree in International & Comparative Law.
